During the second half of 2011, the Peace Trust began looking at its organisational structure and its rules to enable it to become a self-providing tax deductible organisation and to ensure the longevity of the organisation.
A team has been working on a draft constitution, that is now available to all members to provide comment and feedback on before it will be presented at the 2012 Annual General Meeting for ratification and implementation.
The Peace Trust has also been looking at a name change to the Graham F Smith Peace Foundation this name has been included in the draft constitution, and comments on this change are also being sought.
A copy of the draft constitution can be downloaded here in PDF format and comments can be send either via email or post, but must be received prior for 5pm, Friday 13 January 2012. Once feeback has been received a copy of the final document that will be presented to the AGM will be emailed/posted to members. A majority of members present at the AGM are required to endorse the new constitution and the name change for it to take effect, and we would encourage all members to make comment and attend the AGM.
