2012 Peace Trust Fringe Award – Application and Conditions

Nominations

All registered Fringe artists are invited to self-nominate for the Peace Trust Award 2012 thereby agreeing to the selection criteria and conditions outlined below. Downloadable application form is available below.

Eligibility

Artwork must be in accord with one or more of the following of the Peace Trust objectives:

  • promotes human rights
  • supports Indigenous people´s rights to economic self-determination
  • promotes peace as a way of solving conflict
  • promotes care of the environment and sustainable development
  • supports justice for oppressed peoples

Adelaide Fringe 2012 registered artists in all categories are eligible for the award.

In accordance with eligibility as outlined above, artwork will also be assessed on the following:

  • Engagement with audience and/or Critical Response
  • Clarity of artistic vision
  • Fringe Factor
  • Demonstration of how the award will contribute financially toward the continued life of the artwork (through future performances or exhibitions), although not required, would be considered favourable

Selection Process

The Peace Trust Management Committee will appoint a Peace Trust Award Sub-Committee which includes professional industry representatives. Based on the selection criteria, the role of the Sub-Committee is to shortlist applicants, view artworks and select an award winner. Sub-Committee members must declare any conflict of interest and not be part of the selection process of artworks with which they have an affiliation.

 

Shortlisted applicants will be posted on www.adelaidefringe.com.au andwww.artspeacetrust.org no later than the morning of Saturday 17 March 2012.   The Peace Trust Award Sub-Committee will select a winner from the shortlist.

The Peace Trust Sub-Committee decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Peace Trust Sub-Committee is not required to discuss the reasons for their decisions or give feedback on specific artworks.

Conditions

  • The presenter agrees for Adelaide Fringe to allocate up to 2 complimentary tickets to the Peace Trust Sub-Committee across the season, excluding preview performances and any performances taking place after 6.00pm on 15 March 2012. The presenter will bear the cost of complimentary ticket fees.
  • Any documentation requested must be correctly submitted in order to be considered for the award.
  • The award winner/s will acknowledge receiving The Peace Trust Award in future marketing material for a period up to twelve months by including The Peace Trust logo and The Peace Trust URL as provided by The Peace Trust.
  • The Peace Trust reserves the right not to fund any of the submissions presented in a particular year if it does not meet selection criteria.

How to apply

Applying for the Peace Trust Award involves the submission of an application form and supporting material.

Applicants must include the following:

  • Completed Application Form
  • Contact details for two (2) referees
  • Up to two pages of any relevant supporting material. All supporting material should be clearly labeled.
